Mahmoud Darwish 1941-2008



SPD is sad to learn of this weekend's passing of Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish.

His works translated into English include The Butterfly's Burden (carried by SPD; Copper Canyon Press), Why Did You Leave the Horse Alone? (Archipelago Books), and Memory for Forgetfulness: August, Beirut, 1982 and Unfortunately, It Was Paradise: Selected Poems (University of California Press).
